Philosophy of Classroom Management
At the heart of my classroom management philosophy is the desire to establish positive relationships with my students in an atmosphere rich in procedure and routines. However, in the spirit of humanism, I believe no classroom can be efficiently managed without student voice and choice. Therefore, a building block of my classroom management is student empowerment. Such a creative and simultaneously organized approach will yield a firm structure in which learning can take place. For more inquiry into practical ideas, please see the paper below.

Building Relationships with Students
I believe that educational is first and foremost relational in nature. Without relationships of mutual trust, respect, and recognition, true learning cannot take place. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that I spend the time to get to know my students. For this reason, I have designed and created a unique tool that will allow my students to develop their own self-concept while informing me of the multifaceted basics of who they are. This will help me to better differentiate instruction and assessment! Please see the document below for specifics.

Project Based Learning
Innovation and inquiry are perhaps the most important educational ideals for which to strive. Thus, keeping 21st Century Skills at the forefront of the learning process, I have created a 10-Day Unit Plan for a high school history course that focuses on the complex issue of immigration in both historical and contemporary America. Integrating technology and differentiated instruction, this unit plan is a lot of fun! Because many of the files are too large to be uploaded, I have attached the just outline and general information below. If you would like to see more, please contact me.
